Resident Surprises Intruder Inside Home
A Loretto resident returned home after a shopping trip last week to discover that an intruder was inside her home.
The resident summoned Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies to her Five Points Road home shortly after 2:00 p.m. Thursday. She reported that she had arrived home from the grocery store, unlocked her front door and sat three grocery bags down inside the door, then returned to her vehicle to fetch more groceries.
When she heard her back door slam, the resident told deputies she ran across the front yard and saw a man running from her home, in an easterly direction.
Deputies report conducting a search of the area, however they were unable to locate the suspect.
At the time of the break-in, the man was wearing pants, a white muscle shirt, a hat, and was carrying a white plastic bag. The victim also said the man had dark hair.
Investigation into the matter is continuing through the department’s Crime Suppression Unit. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is encouraged to contact the department at 762-3626.
